Contents of the subject

This one day experiential management seminar focuses on one of the most central questions in management, change management and today’s business world: How do people develop energy and motivation to change?
In today’s fast changing business environment nothing can be taken for granted and we all should expect that consumer needs, technological solutions and business models change faster than ever. This means we all have to change as well – how our company works, in which structures we work and with what kind of mindset. But how do we motivate people to change? And what are the crucial factors involved? 
In this seminar we will work very practically with the so called “change formula”: CM = f (D X F X W) > C. This is a fundamental change framework, that addresses the four critical factors involved in successful change efforts. This will help us to succeed in understanding the most important aspects of change energy and what we can do to help people change. We will bring this short change formula to life and you will be able to “see”, understand and apply this formula in everyday interactions as well as using it as a tool for your larger change efforts.

Qualification aims of the subject

This course is designed to help students:

  • To really understand the most important psychological aspects of change energy
  • To provide them with a very practical framework and tool.
  • To give them several possibilities to apply and work with this framework

Applicability of the subject

This module is exclusively offered for the MBA Master of Business Administration. The module is taught in the second study phase which provides fundamental cross-sector and cross-functional skills and knowledge in management.

The nature of the examination / requirements for the award of credit points

Attendance is mandatory !

I initially spent two and a half years at the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development in developmental psychology research, then five years as a project manager and organizational consultant. In 2001 I started my own consulting practice. My work centers on change management consulting, executive development and coaching (specifically in leadership changes and conflict situations). 
At the end of 2017, I joined Synchronize-Consult, a consulting firm focusing on effective strategy-led change processes, as a managing partner.  For more than 20 years I have focused scientifically and practically on stages of personal development. The available ego-development profile offers the opportunity to test one’s own development level and to derive incentives for one’s own further development as a manager while providing targeted support.
For four years I served on the executive board of the Business Psychology section of the Professional Association of German Psychologists (BDP). Since 2001 I have led the regional group for Business Psychology Berlin/Brandenburg where I regularly hold events. I am a member of the German Association for Supervision and Coaching (DGSv) and the Systemic Society (SG).
